First off, thank you to everyone who has downloaded the Pokémon Go Journal app for iOS. I have big plans for this app and I’m grateful to everyone who has downloaded it since launch and supported the site.
Below is a list of updates I plan on making to Pokémon Go Journal. Some will affect only the app, but others will affect the site as a whole. In short there’s a number of changes I want to make to the guide, but I will also remain focused on the news aspect of Pokémon Go Journal.
I hope to have all work completed within a week of this announcement and submitted to Apple. Here’s what you can expect from the next update:
Live updates section: The next update will have a section of the guide that features live updates. That way when changes like the recent removal of the three-step indicator happen you can see when it happened and how it affects the game.
Updated offline guide: The guide in general will be updated to reflect the current state of the game. Most aspects remain true, but some sections like how to read a Pokémon’s stats screen need updating. The guide on the website is already undergoing updates.
More detailed battle guide: Taking over gyms is an important part of the game, so I want this section of the guide to give players a better understanding of how to do it. Things such as choosing a core team of battlers and what types work best against others.
Calculators for evolutions and IVs: This update may take a while, but eventually I want this guide to have full working calculators that you can use to determine what Pokémon to keep for battling and when to evolve to maximize your potential CP returns. Again though, this may not make it in the update and have to wait until the next.
